"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

Day Two on our Journey to Florida

Today we took off from Laramie, WY and headed to Cheyenne. We wanted to sleep in from the late night but Cinch was up at 5:30 and we had to coax him into letting us sleep until 8:30.

Cinch reading his books on the drive.

The first thing we saw as we entered downtown Cheyenne. It was huge right in between the roads. Looking over the huge train yard.

In Cheyenne there are these huge boots through out the city. We stopped and looked at part of them.

Cinch really liked this one because the spur rowel actually moved- It was pretty cool because it was made out of railroad spikes.

The paintings on the boots were amazing!

This was a little train statue outside of the old Train Depot. Cinch wanted the wheels to move

From Box Elder County to Cheyenne Wy. In the depot it shows the train routes on the floor. Pretty cool.

This old trolley car takes you on tours through the city but we figure we have enough sitting to do and opted not to go

The State Capitol Building has the awesome bucking horse statue. It look better in real life and it was huge.

After some more touring we found a park to play at to let Cinch get rid of some energy. He was good at herding the geese but didn't know what to do once they escaped to the water.

After playing in the park it was noon but we weren't hungry so we got back in the truck and headed down the road again. Cinch slept for 2 1/2 hours which was great. We passed into the State of Nebraska- going to fast to get a picture of the welcome road sign. When Cinch woke up we stopped in the little farming town of Big Springs and found a park to eat our picnic at. Daniel took a quick power nap while Cinch and I played trucks.

A not usual landmark on the WY Nebraska border. It is of Christ. Would have liked to stop but when the child is sleeping you keep on trucking.

Another random spotting just on top of a hill- no sign or anything but 3 crosses.
After lunch we drove some more miles- I don't know how many and stopped in Lexington, Nebraska for the night. We got here early enough that we could swim in the pool and all get to bed earlier than last night.
I don't know about you but I don't think this sign is quiet right- Elwood 14 miles away?
