30 Hrs to Missouri and Home

The last full week in Oct we had been asked to go to Lockwood, Missouri and pick up 2 new horse trailers for the ranch. We were supposed to take the General Managers truck, but it was in the shop and didn't get done in time- so we figured our trip was off. But the GM, Chip, called and told us to just take the senior missionary truck.  Well we had planned on leaving Thursday morning early and it was Thursday morning late. We were trying to track down the missionary truck and it wasn't working. So plan B, Daniel would grab one of the other cowboys and just take his single cab work truck and do the trip non-stop. Plan B fell through as no one could go. Finally we found the missionary truck at 3:00. Daniel helped them unload it so we would have room for all of us to go, and we took off at 4 pm just planning to sleep in the truck.

We made it just 2 hours shy of Lockwood and decided we would get a hotel room. Me and the boys could stay and wait there in the morning while Daniel went and picked up the trailers and met back up with us. Which was a win win. The boys could watch some shows, stretch their legs, and be 4 less hrs in the truck.

Pick up went good, Daniel made it back to us at 11am CT and we headed on the long drive home at 55-65mph. The boys rode awesome and we made good time. 1414 miles in 30 hrs with 2 little kids... not bad.

Why didn't we take longer to get home?, well I had Bountiful Baskets Saturday early afternoon, and the Church Fall Festival hosted at our house for the whole branch that night. It was a crazy 3 days, and little did we know that Monday morning our world was about to fall apart.
