We have 2 owls that live in our calving barn, year round.
I STRONGLY dislike the owls.
I think part of it comes from my vet tech days, and the clinic's raptor rehab program.
I fed, x-rayed, medicated one too many owls, hawks, and raptors for my real like.
Truthfully, I'm scared to death of these big birds, and to try and catch them with leather gloves on wasn't an easy task.
But our owls here on the ranch bother me because every time- I open the doors to the barn- they swoop right at my head and try to carry me away!
Why they don't fly out the way they come in I don't understand!
And why they have to wait until I step into the barn to see if they are gone- the swoop to get me....
Ah, I really have a problem.
But it's spring time - and that means babies.
Our owls had 2 egg laid, a few weeks ago- but only 1 baby made it.
So every time we go out to the calving shed-- Cinch has to check on the baby bird.
Daniel is always happy to lift him up and show him the baby- I on the other hand, chose to wait to see a picture of it- I am sure the mom or dad will be waiting for me the 1st time I peek my head up there.
It is cool to see all the birds and rabbits the parents bring in for their baby and how fast it eats it up.
