People often get confused by where we actually work and live-
so this is the FYI- For Your Information Post.
We work for the LDS Church Ranching Company "Ag Reserves" which is a FOR profit division of the company. You don't have to be a member of the church or a temple recomend holder like the welfare division. Which here in Nebraska its about 50%-50% people who are lds and not.
We work on the Rex Ranch in Nebraska.
The Rex Ranch is split into 4 Units
Rex Unit
Abbott Unit
Joy/Star Unit
Eldred-Pawlett Unit **we live on this one**

The ranch started on the Rex Unit, and as larger ranches have come for sale they have been purchased- which is why all the ranch doesn't sit together.
The Ranch is Approximately 300,000 acres +/-
11,000 Mature Cows +/-
It sits about 90 mins North to South
2.5 hours East to West
3 Different Missions
3 Different Church Stakes
3 Different Temple Districts
See the Yellow Section-- Thats where we live on the ranch
So we Work for Ag Reserves on the Rex Ranch- Eldred Unit- Home Place Camp
Confused Yet???
Each Unit is seperated into "Camps" A camp is where a family lives and takes care of that part of the ranch.
Rex Unit- 3 Camps
Abbott Unit- 3 camps
Joy/Star Unit- 4 camps
Eldred-Pawlett Unit- 6 camps
So the yellow section is the Home Place Camp
The Eldred Ranch was purchased in 2004 from the Eldred Family, We live in the ORIGINAL Eldred House, that was built in the 1930s. Its an awesome house! So the name of our camp is the Home Place.
On the Home Place Camp we are in charge of
just less than 18,000 acres
1,000 yearling heifers
900 mature cows with their babies
All of that fits on this map
This is the pasture land we are in charge of. In the lower right hand corner, there is a star and the words "home place" thats where our house sit.
The Red/Blue/Yellow dots refer to our water
Red- Solar Well Only
Blue- Windmill & Solar Well
Yellow- Windmill Only
The map below shows the acerage of all of the pastures

So when asked who we work for and where we live- it does get confusing... but yet we love our camp and the land we are over.
