Monday Morning Surprise

Monday Morning Cinch & woke up and immediately he wanted to go feed Little Red- I was really surprise because he wasn't worried about eating first, which isn't normal. Breakfast comes as soon as Cinch is awake.
I made him eat a couple bites of cereal before we ventured outside.
As we made the walk across the yard to the calving barn we happened upon a Snapping Turtle- it was a big one too! We have seen plenty of Box Turtles out here but this is the first Snapping Turtle. It was so cool to see. It made being up at 7 in the morning worth it.
Daniel, the wonderful guy he is- had been up for a couple hours and taken pictures of the turtle for us in case we didn't get to see it. But he came over and showed Cinch what it could do. A snapping turtle in the only one (or one of the only kinds) of turtles that can flip themselves back over from their back. They have a really long neck and can eat other turtles as well. Daniel thinks is could have been laying eggs how it was acting and the holes it was digging- I guess we'll find out.
We were intrigued to say the least and it helped Monday morning not be so dreadful.
