"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

23 hour journey to Bishop, Texas

2 days journey, not as long as Florida- longer than Utah/Idaho.
It was honestly so much work to get this move together. Daniel was getting AI started, I was trying to get the house finalized packing, saying good bye to friends, cleaning, praying it would all fit in the horse trailer (which it did).
We set off Tuesday morning about 10 am. Ate lunch in North Platte, Nebraska.

Ate dinner in Garden City Kansas. Felt kinda weird to be back in this town as we spent 2 week there in a hotel while Daniel cross-trained.

Drove through Oklahoma for 2 hours.

FINALLY saw the Texas state line. Sad part, we weren't even half way yet.

We drove until 11pm and spent the night in Shamrock, TX. Then next day we drove drove drove. Up until 90 minutes from San Antonio we drove on Highway 83, one of the longest highways in America. It was actually a pleasant drive because it wasn't interstate, just little towns every so often and ranches or farm ground.

From San Antonio south for 2.5 hours the boys were DONE! I'm not sure who drew the short stick. Daneil had the boys with him in the truck and I was in the car alone. While I'm not jealous of their screaming at the end, the silence would be boring.

We arrived and the landlord had come and turned on the AC but it was SO hot! We decided to unload the trailer right then and there, while it was the "cool" of the night, we all slept well that night, with fans pointed straight on us all.
