"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

Our New Life in Texas

We arrived in the heat, and now even 2+ months later it is still too hot.
The first weekend we were here we tried to get to know our new surroundings.
We went to the beach on day 2.. Chauncey lost the keys. Being in a new town, with no family around, and no way to get back to our house or into it we called a locksmith. They arrived 45 minutes after we were already- ready to leave the beach. We told him, we'd need a new key made which he forgot to bring the machine. So another hour later he went back to the shop and came back and made a new key. Needless to say a couple hours and dollars later we returned home without groceries and very hungry, hot and tired.

The beach has been our main escape and relief from town life. The boys love the water and to ride their boogie-boards. And could dig in the sand for hours.

We've seen 3 tarantulas so far around the house.

The park is another place to try and get energy out. We have to head over before 9:30 am or it is too hot to play.

A fun store by the beach.

Late Morning and Early afternoon find the boys jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler near by to keep them cool.
Maggie isn't a fan of the heat or town, but adjusting just like the rest of us. The boys enjoy having a piece of the ranch with us.

What a few hours at the beach can do.

Chauncey also, threw my nice DLSR camera off the desk and broke my lens. That kid isn't helping us adjust to college student income very easily.
