He was one of the best baby sitter and teachers of horses. He taught Cinch lots and we never had to worry.
This past summer Cinch was riding a lot more aggressive and Mike was aging more- so he had 1 day a week limit- but Mike was still his favorite horse. Chauncey had started to ride Mike this fall and we had really hoped he would make 1 more winter to be Chauncey's babysitter this summer.
Mike was fine all day on Tuesday. I fed him, his daily grain before I left to get Cinch from the bus. We had him in his own pen with hay and grain to help keep him going. When I got back from the bus I noticed he was resting, and then with in an hour he was gone. I called to tell Daniel- and he told Cinch over the phone. Cinch dropped the phone and started bawling hysterically. We went down and Cinch gave him a big hug and thanked him for being his awesome best friend horse. It was a sweet moment. I can only hope we can have more Mike's in our lives.
