June = Branding Month

June is a happy, tired , exciting, stressful month out here on the ranch. It consists of brandings all month long, with few days of none. Between all the ranch units and trading help with neighbors I'm usually excited to see the 4th of July come, knowing we are heading on Vacation to Utah and brandings are done.

It is really fun to see the kids improve every year with their roping or getting old enough to vaccinate or wrestle. And I enjoy the social event of helping the others wives cook and clean up. We don't see each other too much the rest of the year since we live so far apart, so its nice to catch up.

Here are some of my favorites from the month of June.

Who would of thought that fact that we gave him leather to chew on as a baby would back fire on us. He is constantly chewing on the reins or saddle strings. Because he likes the taste? or our of habit?

I loved the sun this morning.

My dear friend Sara is the most dedicated runner I know. At least 5 miles a day. She's training for another marathon, and even got her run in on her birthday/branding day. When most of us wives are stressed out if we have enough food.

1,000+ head going into one branding trap 5:30 am- 11am  DONE!

Chauncey isn't always the best sport as he really just wants to sit on the calves or ride on a horse.

Cinch and Ruby, we are all curious how long they will stay good friends, before cooties come into play.

How we all feel usually about 2 pm

I was for sure someone had documented me roping since I didn't have a baby this year, but maybe next year I'll have proof of my work at the brandings.
