"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

2013 Baxter Family Reunion

The reunion was held July 9 & 10th this year. Brandon's family was in charge and it was Salt Lake City based. We got to "switch" children for part of the time and it was a great way to get to know everyone more.
We started with breakfast burritos at mom and dad's and got our "new" kids. We headed to SLC- The is the Place park. We had a great time at the village. Doing pioneer activities, petting zoo, ice cream cones, and the splash pad.

We headed to a near by park to eat lunch with our "reunion" families. We were asked to call ahead and prepare something they like for lunch. Our kids, Cheyenne, Carli and Bella, yes all girls, weren't picky eaters at all. The cousins played on the playground, duck duck goose, and tag before we were off again.

Our next stop was the Cathedral of the Madeleine . It was gorgeous! And so interesting and cool to learn and see another church. I need to study other religions more.
After that we checked into our downtown Hotel and were back with our real families for a while. Our family hit up the family history museum for the kids center mainly. All the family met up later for dinner at the City Creek Mall food court. Then swimming at the hotel pool.

The next morning we were all to meet back up North at Hyrum Dam for lunch and boating fun. Before we left SLC our little family went back over to temple square. We always have it on our "schedule" of things to do when we come back to Utah but it never happens. We went through the visitor centers and saw the Christus. Cinch related it to the big Christus statue in "Rio" the place and movie, and decided he was going on his mission there.
We saw the beautiful temple and talk about "church stuff" Chauncey won't remember but hopefully Cinch will how cool of stuff was there, and that there were missionaries EVERYWHERE.

We headed north and had a derlicious steak lunch, wake boarded, played on the beach and sand. Before we knew it, it was 4:00 our departure time. How we wished we could of stayed longer, but a big task of moving in 3 days was ahead of us.
THANK YOU Paradise Baxter's for planning and hosting a GREAT family reunion.
