October has brought many church changes to our branch here in Alliance.
We received a new Branch Presidency-
Primary moved to the gym as we couldn't fit in the Primary Room any longer
I was Released as Primary President
Daniel was put in as Scout Master and 2nd Counselor in YMs
Our Branch is pretty much a ward- without enough priesthood holders to make it a ward. But as fast as we have grown since Christmas- I don't think it will take much longer.
I was Primary President for 14 months and that was a good long stretch for me. Personally I think it would be easier in a ward vs a branch. It's nice to sit in Sacrament and not look around and see how many teachers aren't there without notice and what part of my presidency isn't there as well.
The last 2 months of Primary were pretty rough and tiring. My reliable counselor and music leader were out with new babies and it was all me. My last week I did Jr Sharing time with 20 Kids under 7 and no one else helping the kids sit quietly-- I was worn out!
But, September was Missionary Month in Primary and so I made the kids their own name tags, with their names. They loved them, and many still wear the tags every week.
Daniel is excited about his new calling- the last Eagle Scout in Alliance was over 20 yrs ago and the last missionary was about the same time period.
Wednesday are now a crazy day. I take Cinch to School in Lakeside in the morning and come home. Then Daniel goes in to Alliance for Scouts/YM that night. So alot of miles- but hopefully the blessings will just keep coming. He said a few of the boys are close to getting their eagles, they just need help with the required merit badges so thats where they are starting.
I'm learning lots... I was TOO little when my brothers were in scouts but hopefully I'll get it figured out before Cinch gets there.
