It's been a year since we saw my mom & dad. They left a year ago today for their mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. I must say they have had quite the adventures. Good & Bad, Scary and Happy. I have to admit sometimes I have to forget about them because it is too hard to know they are so far away- and not close enough to comfort their baby girl. But I will always be proud of them for leaving us all behind for 18 months to serve the Lord and bless the people in Port Noire, Africa. They have done AMAZING work- re opening the area, many many baptisms each month, a temple trip, water projects, being 3,000 miles away from the mission home and well the list could go on and on. I truly won the lottery with parents- they accepted this mission call so willingly knowing it would be extremely hard- learning french, teaching blacks to accept whites, money, lost time with family, but they never looked back. It was quite the experience to be living with them as they prepared to leave. Watching them study for HOURS everyday the scriptures, preach my gospel and learning french through books, an interpreter over the phone, and going to the middle school daily to sit in one of the classes.
Mom & Dad I am so proud of you and all you have done. I know you will leave a legacy with the Port Noire people of the gospel and just life- but I am selfish and counting down the days til you return! Make the most of these last 6 months and then I can't wait to take a picture like this---- only with Cinch in your arms! 6 months and counting....

now don't go getting teary eyed on us. it's hard enough being away from home home as it is. The little guy in the photo had=s become one of my favorites. we share candy on Sundays and if you give him a soccer ball look out. he never kicks it but just picks it up and runs with it Kinda like rugby. He I will miss along with about 357 other members.
