"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

I lived thru a TRI

(DJ, Josie, Hazel & I )

I competed in my first Triathlon this past weekend. I was lucky enough to have one of my sisters and her husband competing as well.

It was the Cache Valley Classic Triathlon- over in Hyrum, Utah. The course consisted of 1/2 mile Swim, Bike 12.4 miles, Run 3.1 miles. To some it seems long and others it seems short- to me it was forever long but yet the fastest 2 hours of my life (why can't labor last that long and be fast?).

(Getting ready to swim)

I was really nervous about the swim- I am not a good swimmer and it was in open water and of course the Hyrum Dam was the fullest it has been in years. But I survived. I got really nervous and made myself sick in the water- but I made it through the swim.
I did the whole course in 2 hours 6 minutes. My
goal was 2 hours. So really close to what I hoped- and really good because I hadn't been able to
train very well the past 2 weeks because of therain and family issues. But I did it- I really was sure I was going to drowned but I DIDN'T!!
The biking went well- I cruised right along-- The run was good. It was a steep dam hill. Thats right we got to run out of the Hyrum Dam which is super steep! I didn't think I would ever get to the top and then the turn around point but I got there and the down hill carried me to the finish line! I DID IT! I set a goal- I trained- I made my self do something hard- and yes I was exhausted afterwards.

(Starting the run up the dam- I am in turquoise, My sister is in purple)

Daniel and Cinch were great cheerleaders and parked at various spots on the course to yell for me. And Cinch even got wore out from cheering
me on.

Thanks to all those who believed in me and were
cheering me on!
(Crossing the finish line at last)

Good Job Jesse! What a great accomplishment! Don't you love the feeling of crossing the finish line? I ran the Top of Utah Half Marathon last year and there is nothing like crossing the finish line.
