My parents put this saying in my car, 11 years ago as I left for a big scholarship pageant (that I miraculously won). Little did they know the impact it would still have 11 years later. It fueled me to do pageants, become a state FFA officer, USU Ag Ambassador, receive a bachelor's degree with a 4 month old baby and push our marriage and Daniel's life goals into overdrive.
One of the precious pieces of advise Kari (Daniel's mom) gave us was to go on adventures. Don't get tied down to early in life. There was a lot of world to see out there. With these to simple pieces of subtle advise our almost 8 years of marriage has been an adventure. Some would say we've been on too many adventures, but this summer we'll be moving for our 9th time and to our 5th state. Why because....
We're so excited to announce that Daniel was accepted as one of the 3 incoming students to the
We're stoked because we did this on our own. We took a road that wasn't a guaranteed shot into the program. We didn't use fancy names, just Daniel's and his hard work his entire life and through his bachelor's degree years. This is a very prestige program with many applicants and only 3 admitted every year.
So we're headed to Kingsville, TX. South Texas.
Cinch will be a minority in the school.
Average temperatures aren't below 45* at night.
While it's a sacrifice to put our saddles away for 2 more years- move to a new place even further from our family- and leave the lovely Sandhills of Nebraska we know it's in the Lord's hands.
I can't honestly say how proud I am of Daniel. The kid that barely graduated high school and was never going to step foot into college is going on to get his master's.
While we know where we'll be for the next 2 years- the adventure will start again... saddles will get dusted off and we'll be excited to start ranching again.
Mama Kari- we remember....
