Cinch had parent teacher conference this past week. He is doing awesome. His dibels testing scores are way above average. The only concern from his teacher was that, she felt like he was having a hard time getting air flow through his nose to make certain sounds.
Tuesday was Dentist day for all of us. Cinch went back and did his x-rays and cleaning all by himself. He was super excited they had root beer tooth paste-
Since he was out of school, I was able to get him into the Dr to check out the airflow problem his teacher was seeing. Turns out his tonsils are huge and also have excess tissue, both of which are cause lack of airflow, snoring, sleep apnea. We have an appt with the ENT specialist in 2 weeks to make a further plan. It was great we were able to get him seen right after the dentist. The only frustrating thing was I had asked a previous doctor 18 months ago when his speech teacher was worried about it and that doctor said everything was fine... A little frustrating.
And that's about when the bad luck came in.
Wednesday I was out feeding hay. The tractor broke through some ice, and with the weight of the hay on the hay feeder and the fact it hadn't gotten above 0* for many days the draw bar broke. Daniel came and helped me get the pto unhooked and tractor out of the ice. We figured the John Deere dealer for sure would have a draw bar in stock... but no. They couldn't get one in til Friday.
Thursday-
I was out caking the yearling heifers. I came back to the house to fill up the cakers before going out to the cows. The cake bins at the new house barely have any head clearance. But of course I forgot, I'm still used to the cake bins at the old house I used for 3 years, I hit my head on a support beam... hard.
I thought for sure it was cut open, luckily my hat saved me from a cut- but I had a major head ache, swelling and bruise.
Friday-
The new draw bar was to be at the dealership by 2:30. I went to cake the calves and cows before heading into town- and one of the caker belts broke in the middle of caking the cows.
We headed to town hoping to have the part at 2:30 and home by 3:30. We were running other errands in town and decided to call and see if it had come in early- they nicely informed us they direct shipped it to the house.... Yep, trip to town that wasn't really needed and the draw bar was sitting on our front steps at home already.
Saturday-
Bountiful Basket day. I was in Lakeside helping volunteer and pick up my produce. They had a couple space heaters going in the garage to keep it warm. A little 7 year old boy pause just briefly in front of one and his coat lit up. I was the only one close, produce in my gloved left hand and only had my bare right hand free. I got the fire out, it went through his coat, singed his hair and started through his shirt in a matter of seconds. My hand got to worst. I was really worried the nylon was burnt in to my hand but slowly as I kept holding snow the nylon came out and the blisters appeared. The picture does not justice, they are huge and hurt like crazy- but just grateful the little boy wan't hurt more.
After a head ache and shock from my hand I came home and took a nice afternoon nap.
The good news for the weekend, we had visitors. We love visitors, they don't happen hardly at all anymore so it's a happy day when it happens. We had a great weekend with Bill and Anna Lee.

Your head injury reminds me of a certain time in Pineview. Not so much with cows, but stairs! Haha! Miss you!
