Turtles Turtles Turtles

I realized that I had posted on our Sand Turtles, but had never mentioned the Box Turtles.

Box Turtles are Everywhere out here,

You dodge them like rocks on the road- to try and spare their lives

You ride over them in pastures when moving cows,

They're in the drive way

Stuck down in the cattle guards

Some are as big as cantaloupes

Others are small like bouncy balls.

But-

They are slow and fun to catch and play with.

 Cinch Loves to stop and catch the turtles, until they scratch his hands.

We even skyped a few family members some days - to share our special pets.

We don't see to many of them these days,

they hibernate in the sand during the cold months

Luckily the snakes have started hibernating as well.

Who would of guessed that so many thousands of turtles live in Nebraska.
