This past week we had the annual Baxter Reunion with my sibling’s families- our first year without mom & dad because they are in Africa but joined us over web cam late at night.
Josie was in charge this year and had us all go to Zion National Park- it was amazing! More than what I expected. The first day we went hiking to the narrows. Us younger 4 siblings left a little later and went on the 1 mile paved hike. It was good timing though because by the time we made it up the 1 mile with our little kids- the older kids were coming back.
We stayed in an amazing cabin that I would love to just have as a house. We played in the pool lots. We had a Baxter Amazing Race- and YELLOW Team WON!! That was my team- Daniel & Cinch were on Blue. The teams were split up by the placement in your family. And the YOUNGEST kids won! (And we didn’t cheat ;)… But we had to fill out a pedigree chart, do ping pong, volley ball, basket ball, find and buy candy in the store, Frisbee golf, birth date years of EVERYONE in the family and a few other things. We did really well for having 4 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5.
We also had the 1st Baxter IDOL contest. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. The video posted is of Tag- trying to win over the Judges votes- Cinch was so nice to be a back up dancer for him. Bryson gave a very emotional in touch number and the Nelson Girls put a lot of dance practice into theirs. Daniel was going to represent our family but we ran out of time. Last but not least the older grandkids watch the little ones and all the adults went out to dinner- something we don’t get to do often. It was a great 4 days! Probably wouldn’t have ever gone to Zion on our own. Thank You Archibald 3 for all of your hard work and everyone’s yummy meals! It was great to spend time with you all before we move to Florida and We missed you LOTS mom & dad and can’t wait to have you back for next year’s reunion.
