Trip Home to Utah/Idaho

When we originally moved to South Texas we didn't think we'd go home for Christmas, but the more we thought about it we realized it'd be a long 2 week break with not much to do. We were blessed to find a decent deal on tickets in early September and jumped on them. We slowly started counting down from 100 days out.

December 22nd came and we were ready to get out, see family, our horses, feel winter and have a break from school.

We had a late night flight leaving SAT, connecting in Vegas and on to SLC. With delays we didn't arrive in Elwood until 2:30am MT 3:30 CT but we weren't tired at all. We had an odd moment when we pulled in to the parking lot to get my parents truck, and couldn't figure out what was on the windows,.. it was frost. We are still thinking summer time.

The next morning and most mornings after the boys were happy to put on their snow gear, that was packed in the back of the trailer and play in the snow and ride horses.

Mom helping with my weighted squats, she wasn't thrilled.

In Idaho we visited the Shoshone Dalton's and the boys loved driving their pony team and sledding

Cinch playing Wii with Dalton & Emma, while Chauncey and Christian played trucks.

Lots of cousin time in Utah sledding, Baxter party at the gym, Cousin sleepover and many more memories made.

Playing with the Africa toys.

Daniel was happy to ride his horses, tag fall calves and preg check for Matt. It felt good to give vaccines and take records- we miss ranch life a little of a lot.

Sadly the time went too quickly like usual, and it was time to come home to the heat and school. It was the low key vacation and break we needed to come back and face another semester before summer. Until July family... XOXO
