Daniel's 28th Birthday.
Spotting Snapping turtles on the way to summer speech.
The boys sleeping in, in our bed.
Mama Dixie's short notice visit. It couldn't of been better time and more exciting for us. Papa John was on a Safari and mom had a ride out to Nebraska so she jumped in and came out for 6 days. She was so much help so I could get my pre branding cooking done and to just play with the boys. I think the snakes might of scared her away from another summer visit but we loved having her to ourselves!
She was brave and rode on the little plane to Denver and then a bigger plane to SLC.
More and More brandings. Cinch was big enough this year to help gather every morning, since he can ride without any help anymore. It also really enjoyed having his horse there because him and the other boys would go off on adventures together- ride each others horses and have a so much fun.
*Only in Nebraska do you see the N everywhere*
Bill was here for the Blue Creek branding and got to see the whole production of doing 700-850 head in a morning.
Cinch was quite the entertainer when the older boys weren't around. He'd use the water jug as a drum and at the top of his lungs sing "We built this city on Rock and Roll" And also tell each cowboy good job as they drug another calf to the fire.
This was the most beautiful morning. The clouds were amazing.
Cinch also is known to pack his trucks and diggers to the brandings. As long as he is safe and out of the way that's all that matters to me. This particular day he roped on of his truck and tied it to the brush guard of the truck- the cowboys got a kick out of that.
The Hip O brand. There 2 pots like this to keep enough irons hot.
Our branding day and all the help parked at the house, eating lunch. It's quite the parking lot to feed to 50 person crew.
