"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." --- George Eliot

Spring Break 2010

Spring Break 2010 was planned to be different. All of our other Spring Breaks 2005-2009 have been spent working and doing school stuff. I swore- we were going on vacation. I had FINALLY talked Daniel into going to Vegas just for a few days. The hardest task was accomplished- Second task, find somewhere for Cinch to go, Daniel's parents were thrilled at the idea of having him for a few days, task 3 get off work- accomplished actually before 1 and 2, it didn't hurt to hope a little bit. We were actually going to do, our first trip without Cinch and really first trip just the 2 of us... But well then my grandma passed away and so plans changed. Helping plan her funeral, with my parents being in Africa, particiapting in the funeral and all that comes with it- well it took up my days off of work for Spring Break- so I didn't win, Spring Break was different from the rest, but not how I planned it.

Grandma's Funeral was wonderful as we celebrated and paid tribute to her life.

It brought these cute faces up from Arizona, and I wouldn't have gotten to see until July.
It made his suit, get dusted off and worn.
And well brought all 8 of us siblings together for the day. I would have loved it if they would have just met us in Vegas and we didn't have a funeral- but I never do get my way.

Cinch- well he was the lucky one out of us. Grandma and Grandpa still wanted him to come visit so he got to leave after the funeral and spend a few days in Island Park running roost of the house and being spoiled.
He got to help drive Grandpa's truck and check cabins, do chores and play outside everyday.
Have Grandma's undivided attention.

And even have Jared & Kalee's attention as well.

And when we Finally showed up- He was happier to see his dogs than us.
He had a GREAT week and while we didn't get to go on our trip- it was nice to know Cinch had a vacation from daycare.

And Since Island Park still looks like this, with 3' of snow
We came home a did a little yard work before dark so it really felt like a true Baxter Spring Break :)!
